Anonymous chat · Free · 18+

Everyone's lonely. Someone in your contacts wants to talk.

Chat with people you already know. You both stay anonymous: each of you sees only 👨 or 👩 and a nickname.

Only people
you know.

Tap Talk to someone and pick Women, Men or Anyone. 2U only looks in your contacts:

  1. 1Your contacts who are on 2U.
  2. 2A contact who isn't on 2U yet. They get one WhatsApp, at most once a week.

Contacts are required: allow them on Android, or on the web connect Google Contacts or upload a .vcf or .csv file.

The chat happens inside 2U.

Text and emoji with ticks, last seen and typing. A chat says one of two things, never who:

  • 🔒In your contacts
  • 🔒Has your number

On Android, new messages arrive as push notifications.

Not on 2U yet? One WhatsApp.

If none of your contacts are around, 2U can invite one who fits. Their Open chat button opens 2U, and your chat is waiting there.

At most one a week per number. It never carries your name, your number or your messages.

Never your family. Never a photo.

An AI reads each contact's name to tell gender and relationship, then throws the name away. Family is never paired with you.

  • Colleagues, service people and businesses are never invited.
  • Text and emoji only. Links are blocked, because a link is how a photo travels.
  • End, block or report any chat from its menu.

Your turn. Start talking.

Your chats live in one list, and nobody in it knows it's you unless you say so.

Free. No payments. 18+ only.

Questions, answered.

The short version: nobody sees who you are unless you tell them.

Is 2U anonymous?

Yes, to the people you talk to. 2U gives you a random name like Sunny Pebble, and you pick 👨 or 👩 once. That's your whole profile: no real name, no photo, no bio. Your phone number is never shown to anyone.

Messages are kept on our servers so your chats follow you across devices. They're not end‑to‑end encrypted.

Does the other person know it's me?

No. A chat only ever says 🔒 In your contacts or 🔒 Has your number, never which contact. They see your random name and 👨 or 👩, nothing else.

They find out who you are only if you tell them.

Why does 2U need my contacts?

2U only pairs you with people you know, so contacts are required. On Android, allow the app to read them. On the web, connect Google Contacts or upload a .vcf or .csv file.

Each number becomes a one-way code. An AI reads each name to tell gender and relationship, then the name is thrown away. Indian numbers are also kept as numbers, only so 2U can send an invite.

Will I be paired with my family?

No. Anyone either of you saved as family or a partner is never paired with you.

Colleagues, service people and businesses in your contacts are never sent an invite.

What happens on WhatsApp?

You sign in with a code sent on WhatsApp. If nobody you know is around, 2U may send one person a WhatsApp: “Someone who has your number wants to talk to you on 2U 👋”, with an Open chat button that opens 2U.

It never includes your name, number or messages. A contact who isn't on 2U gets at most one a week; a member at most three a day. The chat itself happens only inside 2U.

Can I send photos?

No. 2U is text and emoji only: no photos, files, voice notes or links. Links are blocked too, because a link is how a photo travels.

Chats still show ticks, last seen and typing. On Android, new messages arrive as push notifications.

What if a chat goes wrong?

Open the chat's menu. End chat stops it for both of you. Block ends it, and you're never paired again. Report ends it, blocks them and sends it to us for review.

Reported chats are the only messages our team reads.

Is 2U free?

Yes. 2U is free on the web and on Android, with no payments of any kind. You must be 18 or older to use it.

Open it in your browser at 2uapp.site/app, or install the Android app.
